This Auction is for a ‘Mrs Pie Porker’, one of a set of 16 Britains Old Vintage 1930s lead painted Cadbury’s Cococubs on offer this week.
When I received these they were in a poor playworn condition. They have now been significantly improved and are all in a very good plus condition. The right ear is a reasonable repair. Any unusual white spots are lamp highlights.
Back in Pre-war Britain, these charming lead figures were a nice free gift advertised as ‘A Toy in Every Tin’ with Cadbury’s Cocao or Drinking Chocolate. They were issued in October 1935 and originally designed by Beatrix Potter illustrator, Ernest Aris.
